The EDF canal collects its water in the lower Durance at Cadarache and flows into the Etang de Berre.
It is 100 km long and has a dual purpose of producing energy - 6 hydroelectric plants - and of improving a network of canals bringing water to several municipalities. Walks are forbidden along the banks of the canal.
