Work of the famous Lyon architect Pierre Bossan between 1868 and 1878.
Built by the famous Lyon architect Pierre Bossan between 1868 and 1878, this building, dedicated to the Holy Rosary, shows the will of the Dominicans, reinstalled in Marseille by Lacordaire, to take over the spiritual direction of this very popular Marian devotion in the city. To be noted : the nudity of the crypt, the high church richly decorated with polychrome marble, the sculptures of Millfaut ( theme of the Rosary), the furniture of Bossan and Sainte-Marie-Perrin, the stained glass windows representing the Saints and Blessed of the order. Visit by appointment for groups only. Service times : weekday Lauds at 7.30am, mid-day service at 11.50am, mass at 12.05pm, vespers at 7pm, compline (or vigil) at 8.30pm. Sunday : Lauds at 8.30am, Mass at 10.30am, Vespers at 6.30pm, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at 7pm, Salvation of the Blessed Sacrament at 8pm.
