Rognes : Caireval - circuit VTT 4

With 150 hectares in the commune of Rognes, the Caireval estate comes from a legacy established at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, it is a testament to the quality of the department's forestry heritage. Under proud oaks and tall pines whose branches form harmonious patterns in space, the walks are enchanting. The clearings of this Provencal version of the forest of Broceliande open onto magnificent views of the Bouches-du-Rhône. On a clear day, you can even make out the sea. - Go up the dirt road. - At the crow's feet, keep to the right. Cross a barrier and go straight on. - At the crossroads turn left and go up the path to the ridge. - At the top, turn right and enjoy the southern view of Sainte-Victoire and the Etang de Berre. Follow the single-track path on the right to stay on the ridge line and enjoy the northern view of the Luberon and the Ventoux. - At the crossroads with the track, turn right and go down towards the forest - Be careful, leave the track and take the single-track path on the left which goes down under the holm oaks. - At the crossroads, take the path on the left that goes down into the valley. - Cross a barrier and then take to the right along the field located at the edge of the forest. At the barrier go straight down. Watch out for tractors. Go along the vineyard towards the farm of Caireval. - Be careful! Cross the departmental road 66 on the protected passage. Go opposite and go down the shaded path for about 180m, until you reach the forestry workshop. At the level of the forestry workshop, continue straight on along the forest and then the fields. - At the corner of a field, turn right towards the forest. Cross the barrier at the edge of the forest, go straight ahead. At the crossroads, turn left. - At the arrival on a vineyard enclosed in the forest, take the right track and go up on the plateau. Stay on the forest track. Before the barrier, take the single-track path on the right. - Turn to the right in the direction of the MGEN and go along the departmental road - Go along the RD 66 on the path towards the MGEN for about 700m and go down to the forest cabin. At the intersection turn left towards the Rd for 15m. Be careful! Cross at the protected passage to the car park.
