Eglise Sainte-Honorine

France > Hauts-de-France > Oise > 60110 > Corbeil-Cerf > 10 Rue François de Lubersac

Located on the edge of the castle park, the Sainte-Honorune church touches us by its simplicity. This building is typical of what was built in the 16th century, at the end of the Gothic style, in our countryside. The simple plan includes a nave without aisles ending in a three-sided choir. A small porch and a chapel, probably for seigneurial use, were added to this ensemble. At the level of the porch, there is a small slate bell tower. The nave and the choir are covered by a plaster vault while the chapel and the porch have ribbed vaults. The walls are made of a mixture of flint and rubble, ashlar, rare in the Pays de Thelle, is reserved for the buttresses and openings. Built in a pivotal period, we find in this church elements of the Gothic style finishing like the windows of the choir but also Renaissance elements like the arcades of the porch and the chapel. If by its exterior appearance, the church seems simple, its interior decoration is still today of great richness: woodwork and altarpiece of the 18th century, pulpit, stained glass windows and statues.
