The reconstruction of Chauny after the First World War deserves a particular interest. Chauny is indeed the first city in France to have a development plan, beautification and extension. Decorative elements of "art deco" style on the facades or inside the buildings make it a city with an exceptional heritage to rediscover. Today, when visiting the city, it is interesting to know that the implementation of each building was the subject of a very broad consultation. Not to be missed: the Saint-Martin church, the covered market place, the Notre-Dame church, the Gambetta boulevard, the Foch square, the village hall.
