A chateau to discover close to Amiens, in the heart of the Somme Valley.
With its park and outbuildings, Château d'Argoeuves is an interesting example of peri-urban residential architecture, and more specifically of the "pavilion" style. As you contemplate this beautiful rural residence, you will be struck by its regular, symmetrical layout, which contrasts with the diversity of forms used to enliven the facades of the outbuildings. From July onwards, the owners invite you to wander through the park. To restore the château to its former glory, major work has been underway since January 2017. More than 350 trees have been cut down to restore the park to its 1830 open structure. The end of the park has been entirely grassed over. The perspective that had disappeared between the Château de Saint-Sauveur and the Château d?Arg?uves was recreated with the planting of new trees (pines and beeches). The outbuildings and greenhouse have been renovated. The 19th-century outbuildings, the wooded park, the dovecote and the greenhouse are all rich in history, heritage and architecture. Over the years, the whole ensemble will be completely restored. We advise you to come back regularly to admire the transformations: the château opens its doors free of charge every year in July and August from 12 to 6pm and for Heritage Days.from 01/07/24 to 31/07/24 (except Saturdays)from 19/08/24 to 30/08/24 (except Saturdays)on September 21 and 22 for European Heritage Days
