Jean Martin

Jean Martin planted his own 18,000-tree olive grove in Provence to secure his supply of local olives: Grossane, Salonenque and Béruguette, typical varieties of the Vallée des Baux de Provence! An olive tree produces olives from its 7th year onwards, on average. Production peaks between 20 and 30 years of age. From the honorable age of 150, depending on the species, production will slowly decline. However, many olive trees can produce fruit up to the age of 400! In 1920, an idea germinated in the mind of the man whose name gave birth to the brand: to unlock the secrets of the olive cassée, which has become a true Provencal specialty. At Jean Martin, we're proud of our roots and our terroir. Since 1920, our family business has grown up in the heart of Provence, a region rich in flavors and culinary traditions. We work closely with local farmers to select the best ingredients from our terroir, to bring you authentic, quality products. Our range of products is a true tribute to the richness of our region. Olives, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchinis and aromatic herbs are grown in the surrounding fields, then cooked in our large kitchen in Tarascon. Every step is carefully thought out to preserve the flavor and intrinsic quality of our products. At Jean Martin, cuisine is the result of a love of the land and its traditions, a passion for what the land has to offer, and an openness to others and their influences. Jean Martin lives in Provence to capture these flavors, to enrich himself with blends and to preserve what makes our cuisine what it is today! That's why his successors live between the fields and the kitchen, close to the stove and the table. They are constantly creating new products, based on a living tradition, and developing delicious recipes!
