Géosite du Cuisien

France > Hauts-de-France > Oise > 60350 > Cuise-la-Motte > rue des Boulands

In Cuise-la-Motte, an open-air geology book. Come and stroll and let your imagination take over: dinosaurs have recently disappeared, mammals are replacing them, the first equids and primates are appearing, a luxuriant mangrove surrounds you, bird calls are regularly heard... Discover a geological site among the best preserved of the Ypresian. The deposit is very rich and the hundreds of species found on site such as invertebrates, mollusks, fish or crustaceans prove that 50 million years ago there was a warm sea (from 16° to 22°) and shallow. The best known fossils of this geosite are the Nummulites. Visit on reservation for groups. Open every 2nd Saturday of each month from April to September. Registration at the Tourist Office Pierrefonds Lisières de l'Oise. - 03 44 42 81 44
