Saint-Côme-d'Olt, situated on the banks of the Lot, is classified as one of the "Most beautiful villages in France". Admire its medieval village and its church with its magnificent flamed bell tower. You will walk along a country road that will lead you to Castelnau-de-Mandailles, a link between the Lot valley and the Aubrac. After the "Trescol" pass (711 m), you will see Prades-d'Aubrac, a small mountain village with many basalt houses, spread over several levels of terraces surrounded by meadows. Continuing your tour, you will discover Aubrac between forest and plateau. You will cross the site of Brameloup: in winter, a family and friendly resort which offers a domain adapted to the learning of alpine skiing. In summer, a break at the spring, a walk in the magnificent beech woods with the scents of wild berries, Aubrac tea, gentian or arnica are most appreciated. In autumn, the forest takes on magnificent colours and the deer's roar that you can hear at times, offers you a unique atmosphere. On the way down, you will pass by the Lac des Picades, a place for trout fishing and relaxation, then the hamlet of Bonnefon, where you will plunge back into the history of the Domerie d'Aubrac (12th century), passing by the imposing Tower (15th century - now private property) and the old attic, located at the back, which was used to store the rye harvest. Continuing on your way, you will see hamlets and farms here and there, testifying to the local agricultural activity, specialising in part in the extensive breeding of the Aubrac cattle breed. After the hamlet of Le Recours, you will see the village of Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac, nestled in a green setting, built along the river "la Boralde de Saint-Chély". Take the small road on your left, it will lead you to the "Pont des Pèlerins", the cross and the sculpted pilgrim (14th century), a cultural asset classified as a World Heritage Site under the "Chemins de Compostelle" (Unesco - 1998). A few kilometres after Saint-Chély, you will find on your left the Union Aubrac selection and race evaluation station which shelters during the winter some 140 young males, future breeders. In the village of Salgues, a pleasant road will lead you to Labastide-d'Aubrac and then Saint-Côme-d'Olt.
