EGLISE SAINT-JULIEN

France > Grand Est > Meuse > 55110 > Liny-devant-Dun > rue de l'Eglise

When it was founded under the Ancien Régime, the church of Saint-Julien depended on the chapter of Verdun and the Archbishopric of Reims. The building has kept its Romanesque porch-tower, which is now part of the first bay of the church. The rest of the building dates back to the Gothic period for the choir and to the end of the 18th century for its nave and aisles which form a hall church. Classified as a historical monument since 1921, the building is open to the public during the Heritage Days weekend. On this occasion, it is even possible to visit its bell tower and discover its recently restored framework. To visit the church: Only during Heritage Days or on request at the town hall.
