LA PELOUSE DU POTELON À ATTIGNEVILLE

France > Grand Est > Vosges > 88300 > Attignéville

Following the beautiful valley of the Vair and the departmental road n°3, the visitor will reach Attignéville, where the Potelon lawn is hidden. You will have to branch off towards the centre of the village, then follow the signs that will take you to the plateau. Qualified as a habitat of European interest, Potelon shelters heritage species, survivors of heavy human activities. After the large clearings, agro-pastoral activities and the rational exploitation of the rock have allowed the maintenance of plant communities typical of dry limestone grasslands On sunny days, you will be surprised by the large number of butterflies, a sign that the diversity of life here is exceptional. Thus, more than 200 botanical species have been recorded. To date, more than 460 plant and animal species have been identified: Pedunculated Cytis, Red Fescue or the Italian Caloptene and the Damier de la Succise. This site is protected and managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Lorraine, in partnership with the municipality.
