FAÇADE REMARQUABLE : HOTEL DE FAILLONNET

France > Grand Est > Meuse > 55300 > Saint-Mihiel > 3 rue Raymond Poincaré

The old hotel of Faillonnet is also called the house of the gargoyles. Dating back to 1554 (date on a coat of arms on the facade), it was bought by lawyers in the 18th century and passed to the de Faillonnet family at the beginning of the 19th century. This house comprises a dwelling on the street, a courtyard followed by the outbuildings and terraced gardens. Five zoomorphic chimeras (ornamental motifs that do not allow water to run off) decorate the cornice.
