Former lordship of the Bishops of Verdun, the castle of Hattonchâtel was built by the bishop Hatton in the 9th century. It is one of the most historic places in Lorraine. It underwent the assaults of the various wars and was then restored by an American, Mrs. Skinner. Located on a promontory overlooking the plain of Woëvre, the ensemble offers an impression of balance, authenticity and serene beauty. Guided tour every day (except for privatization) at 5 pm: 5 € (free for children).
