LE COTEAU DE LA RIVIERE À AUTIGNY-LA-TOUR

Like a natural amphitheatre, the Coteau de la Rivière spreads out around its village. The heritage interest of Autigny-la-Tour, the beauty of the landscape and the ecological quality of the limestone lawn make this site a remarkable place. This Coteau presents particularities rarely found in a single place: high dryness of the soil, both on the plateau and on the hillside, significant decalcification of the substrate, which leads to its corollary of adapted plant species and finally a regular pastoral practice that keeps the environment open. By visiting the site, you will be able to discover a very varied fauna and flora: orchids, including Elderberry Orchid, Wall Lizard, Aspic Viper as well as day butterflies. This site is protected and managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Lorraine, in partnership with the commune.
