CHAPELLE SAINT-NICOLAS DE MORLANGE

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57290 > Fameck > 123 rue Saint-Roch #### Morlange

Morlange, part of the municipality of Fameck, is located about ten kilometres west of Thionville. The Chapel dominates the village from its bell tower, it is dedicated to Saint-Nicolas and Saint-Roch. Listed in the inventory of historical monuments on 31 January 1845, it is one of the most beautiful and best preserved testimonies that Romanesque art has left in the region. A haven of peace at the foot of the Justemont hills, the chapel stands, discreetly out of sight, in the middle of a grassy enclosure, whose entrance is controlled by a magnificent renaissance portal strangely carved and surmounted by an empanaché coat of arms.
