PALAIS DUCAL

France > Grand Est > Meurthe-et-Moselle > 54000 > Nancy > 64 Grande Rue

Built in the 16th century, it was first the residence of the Dukes of Lorraine. Abandoned in the 18th century by Leopold who preferred Lunéville, it houses the Lorraine museum since 1848. Its remarkable gatehouse, inspired by that of the royal castle of Blois, elegantly blends Gothic art and the Italian Renaissance. REFURBISHMENT CLOSURE As part of the renovation project of the Musée Lorrain - palace of the Dukes of Lorraine, the exhibition areas of the ducal palace are closed to the public. Only the Cordeliers church remains open to the public.
