ANCIENNE ABBAYE SAINT-CLÉMENT

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57000 > Metz > 1 place Gabriel Hocquard

The construction of the Abbey of St. Clement (1683-1737) begins with the church. Work of the architect Jean Spinga. The church is a perfect illustration of the Benedictine Gothic in use until the middle of the 18th century. Since 1982, the former abbey has housed the headquarters of the Lorraine Region in a completely renovated Pontiffroy district.
