CHATEAU DE MANONCOURT

France > Grand Est > Meurthe-et-Moselle > 54610 > Belleau > 10 Rue du Château #### MANONCOURT SUR SEILLE

The members of the Marcol family, lords of Manoncourt, had the castle of Manoncourt built in the 17th century with its 3 ha park. Most of it was destroyed during the First World War and rebuilt in 1919-1920 by Mr Colin, a rich industrialist from the region. The castle of Manoncourt is then also called La Maison Colin. In 1924, Mr Colin commissioned the artist Louis Guingot (1864-1948) painter, decorator, inventor and founding member of the Ecole de Nancy, to create majestic frescoes to decorate the castle's party room. The property is now listed as a Historic Monument. The interior framework is signed Emile Gallé.
