ÉGLISE DE LA NATIVITÉ DE NOTRE-DAME

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57280 > Fèves > Rue Somgue

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin is a rare specimen of 16th-century Gothic (1523). The delicate decoration of the flamboyant porch contrasts with the simplicity of the building. The star-vaulted nave opens onto a 5-sided polygonal choir. The stained glass windows in the apse date from 1529 and are attributed to Thomas de Clinchamp. They are particularly lavishly decorated. Donors appear in two of the three bays. The three-bay nave features capitals sculpted with foliage and a baptismal font dating from 1754. The real treasure of the FEVES church are the admirable stained-glass windows in the choir and the left arm of the transept. Visits on request from the Town Hall.
