CHÂTEAU DE FLÉVILLE

France > Grand Est > Meurthe-et-Moselle > 54710 > Fléville-devant-Nancy > 5 rue du Château

On the outskirts of Nancy, stands a unique testimony of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Lorraine. This exceptional place, named Fléville, offers to the eyes of the visitors its superb 30 meters high keep leaning against a beautiful Renaissance facade, often compared to Azay le Rideau. This cheerful and refined architecture houses many treasures, such as Renaissance woodwork, a collection of 18th century tapestries, the prestigious Hall of Coat of Arms of the Dukes of Lorraine, the royal apartments dedicated to the King of Poland, Duke of Lorraine Stanislas Leszczynski, and a suite of rooms with an intimate atmosphere that evokes the life that still takes place there. This beautiful building is also a family home, inhabited by the same family for over two centuries, which gives it a lively and warm atmosphere. It adjoins a garden classified as a Remarkable Garden, with an 18th century Orangery, decorated with a wonderful 17th century trompe l'oeil recently restored. Let us add that children are welcomed with a particular attention: costumes of knight or princess and a booklet-game allow them to live a playful and educational visit. The castle is currently closed.
