LA CÔTE D'HAROL

France > Grand Est > Vosges > 88390 > Chaumousey > Maison du Vélo #### Bouzey

On the lands of Nacer and Rayane Bouhanni, this central loop of 62 kilometres winds through the hills between the Madon and the Moselle to the west of Epinal. Starting from the Maison du Vélo du lac de Bouzey, you will ride over five bumps and accumulate 740 metres of vertical gain. To get your legs going, follow the Vosges canal on the D460 departmental road towards Chaumousey, then Girancourt. In Girancourt, you take the D39, a hilly road that takes you to the gates of Dompaire, passing under Virine through the côte de Circourt and the côte de Derbamont (>7%). You will appreciate the long sheltered passages under oaks and beeches. Pay attention to the signs from the entrance of Lamerey to the exit of Madonne (interchange of the D166 departmental road). You will arrive at the foot of the third bump above Vautrincourt. This stretch of road open to all winds leads you to the famous côte de Harol (17% passage), known to cyclists from the Grand-Est. At the top, you will appreciate the 360° panorama. To finish this circuit, you join the canal des Vosges aux Forges d'Uzemain via Charmois l'Orgueilleux and find, by a small tortuous road, the lake of Bouzey, having previously crossed the "côte des Salades", the highest point of the route. And five!
