Inspired by that of Septimius Severus of Rome, the triumphal arch glorifies the King of France Louis XV portrayed on a medallion at the top of the building. Today called "Arc Héré", its name recalls the architect Stanislas to whom we owe this monument which was to link the Royal Square (now Stanislas Square) and the quarry square.
