Taison Street is a section of the Roman "cardo maximus", the North / South axis of the city. This road, starting from Trier, reached Marseille. Legend has it that Saint Clement, going down the Holy Cross hill to knock down the Graoully, imposed silence on the Messins by telling them "Let's keep quiet", so as not to awaken the monster symbol of paganism. This story gave its name to the rue Taison. Today it is a very lively pedestrian street with Louis XV, Louis XVI, Gothic and Renaissance houses. The effigy of the Graoully hangs in the street.
