A haven of wild nature in the heart of the Nancy conurbation, the Foulon and Encensoir islands are home to a diverse fauna, relatively common on a regional scale, but rare in urban areas. Originally, in the 13th century, it was man who dug a canal to feed a mill, thus giving birth to the islands in a meander of the Meurthe.
