RUE STANISLAS

The Rue Stanislas is the main artery of Plombières-les-Bains. It is at the heart of the history of Plombières, housing many monuments such as baths and hotels. The street has also witnessed events that could have changed France profoundly, such as the fall of the Empress from her balcony. The street has not always had this aspect. In the 18th century, following the Sainte-Anne deluge, which flooded the city, a new urban plan was put in place. From then on, the houses were to be aligned and fitted with balconies, from 1860 onwards, decorated with fleur-de-lis, curves and arabesques. These magnificent balconies, which allow you to see while being seen, will become the symbol of Leadières, the city of 1000 balconies.
