France > Grand Est > Vosges > 88390 > Renauvoid > intersection avec cense des lois #### route de l'avière

Thank you to the Vosges club for the realization of this hike and the work done by its teams throughout the year to mark out and maintain these paths. Beaconing red ring 5.7 km Hilly rural and forest trail in the municipality of Renauvoid From the parking lot, cross the fence to a shelter. Just before reaching it, take on your left the marked path (+ red) which crosses a small arboretum to join, while skirting the forest, a stony path. Turn left and follow the markings (red disc and red cross) which, first in the forest and then across fields, will take you across the Mauverois stream. You will then come out near a calvary on an asphalt road. Take the road on the right for 300 m and turn left to enter again in the forest by a marked forest track (red disc and red cross). Some 200 m further on, you pass close to the Fontaine de la Couleuvre and continue on the dirt track to climb gently up to a disc point. Follow the marked track (red disc) on the left for a little over 100 m and turn right onto the dirt track which, a little further on, runs along the fields. Arrived near a small house, turn sharply left to join the D51 which you cross to pass on the left of a hangar following the marked track (red coloured disc). This path, which runs along fields and forest, leads you, always staying on your left, to a small tarmac road at the place called Censes des Lois. Go up to the left on the road to arrive near the forest house of Avière. In front of it, take the marked path (red disc and red cross) and leave on your right a marked path (red cross). After passing by a pond, you will come out further on a stony path that you follow on your left for about 300 m. Turn right onto the path that leads to the source of the river Avière, nestled at the foot of a valley in the shape of a circus with a majestic beech wood. Enjoy this magnificent setting for a few moments, as you will have to go up to the left facing the spring on the winding path marked out (red disc). Follow the path, leaving a track on your right halfway up the slope and then, further on, a track on your left. Off the track, the bravest can make a round trip (marked red triangle) to the stele commemorating the fall of an allied plane during bombing in 1944. You will come out at the top of a forest road. Turn left, cross the road and 100 m further on your left you will find the circuit that will take you back to the starting point.
