FEUILLÉE DOROTHÉE

Viewpoint overlooking the valley of the Combeauté with on the right the Saint-Valbert hill, and on the left, the Priory of Hérival nestled in a recess of the gorge. At the beginning of the 19th century, only a small farm existed when the Empress Josephine honored it with a visit. This place had its period of fame from 1827 when a young girl, Dorothée Vançon, sang and played the Vosges spruce while serving refreshments to her guests, thus contributing to the fame of the place which naturally bears her name.
