Classified as a sensitive natural area, the "Argancy gravel pits" occupy a surface area of around ten hectares and comprise four ponds (also known as ballastières) resulting from the quarrying of aggregates This Natural Zone of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest "Ponds and former gravel pits in Argancy and Woippy" is located to the west of the commune. The various habitats are linked to the wet nature of the area. There are riparian forests, phragmita, willow riparian formations, waterside belt vegetation? Remarkable species belong to different groups: amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and plants. Seven species of bat are present. The environment is highly favorable to avifauna. Reptiles include the agile lizard, the wall lizard and the garter snake. Amphibians include Common Toad, Palm Triton and Green Frog.
