Made of Niderviller sandstone, it features a crown of thorns on one side and the word INRI and a nail-pierced sacred heart on the reverse. The base bears the date 1760 and an enigmatic phrase: "This cross was planted by J.E. Col, mother of the murdered Jacques Georges. Pray to God for his soul It is located on the edge of a path linking the water tower and the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Consolation de Ruaux. It was restored in 2022 by Félix Pierré-Lecomte and Claude Burgatt, both stonemasons.
