ÉGLISE SAINT REMY

France > Grand Est > Meurthe-et-Moselle > 54120 > Deneuvre > 32 Grande Rue #### Mairie de Deneuvre

The church of Deneuvre was built between 1742 and 1747, in the place of the castle, with part of its materials. Its construction was decided under Stanislas, and it lasted until 1755, when the Presbytery and its dependencies were built. Of massive aspect, the tower of the Saint-Remy Church is surmounted by a bulbous bell tower finished by a bell tower. It is a perfect example of a barn church, i.e. without pillars The building conceals a statuary and a furniture almost entirely classified as Historic Monuments. The majority of the stone statues (XVIth century) come from the first church (1310-1715). A marble high altar, an imposing 18th century painting and three Baccarat crystal chandeliers complete the decoration of the building. But the masterpiece of the Saint-Remy Church is undoubtedly the organ of 1704; restored in 1996, the instrument has regained its initial aspect and timbres, with 22 stops distributed on 3 keyboards and a pedalboard "à la Française".
