SITE DE CHEVRE ROCHE

France > Grand Est > Vosges > 88120 > Vagney > Route de Chèvre Roche

This site protected by the Conservatoire des Sites Lorrains is to be discovered thanks to a 1.5 km educational trail. In addition to a remarkable launching pad for paragliders, Chèvre-Roche offers a magnificent view of the surrounding balloons and mountains, as well as an incursion into the geology of the Vosges. The viewpoint "des 7 clochers": ideally situated overlooking the Mosellotte valley, this place is known to offer a wide panorama over 7 surrounding communes (will you find them?). It also allows you to observe the Servance balloon, the balloon of Alsace and, continuing northwards, the ridge road to the Rainkopf and the Kastelberg. A bit of geology: did you notice at your feet these pebbles cemented with sandstone? On the edge of the Germanic sea a huge delta has developed, which has so far been carrying quantities of sediments such as pebbles and sand. As for the glaciers, they have pushed granite blocks up to the summit of Chèvre-Roche. Conservatoire des Sites Lorrains © Conservatoire des Sites Lorrains
