CHAPELLE DE MARIMONT

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57810 > Bourdonnay > Domaine de Marimont

The Marimont Chapel is a neoclassical style sepulchral chapel built in the 19th century on a corner tower of medieval origin, a remnant of the former Château de Réchicourt. It is circular in shape, its entrance is supported by four columns; it comprises two distinct levels: the first contains a crypt, and the second is constituted by the chapel, the latter being preceded by a small forecourt on which the columns rest. The whole is covered by a masonry dome, which was previously topped by a stone cross. In the chapel rest four people including Marie-Anne Collot, a sculptor from the 18th century Visit possible only by appointment.
