The Plaine Valley has kept many traces of the First World War, often hidden on the mountainside. A territory of memory, it allows the study of the mountain war. This area is the place of the first destruction of a Zeppelin by war and the place of the greatest depth ever reached in the underground war. The Chevrot gallery at the Col de la Chapelotte is 120 metres deep! Discover these exceptional remains in the company of passionate guides, from the French to the German rear front. On both sides of the front, real factories were created for this underground war to supply the galleries with air and electricity. To be seen at the pass itself: a fountain built by the French soldiers, a chapel built by the Cartier Bresson family and nearby: the rocks of the Pierre à Cheval, the Grotte des Poilus, the path of the rocks, .. Free visits on reservation only, from April to October.
