"And those in Colmar?", she says. "Les Colmariens", they reply proudly. "And you, little inhabitants of Corcieux? There was silence. After giving them the answer, she explains that, at one time, a neighboring town thought the inhabitants of Corcieux danced at a night ball to the music of an imaginary orchestra. Mistaking the dancers for madmen, they called them "will-o?-the-wisps". Time has distorted this word, but a resemblance can be found in the current name of the inhabitants of Corcieux.
