BIBLIOTHÈQUE PIERRE MESSMER

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57400 > Sarrebourg > 13 rue de la Paix

Close to the town center, with over 120,000 documents, the library opens its doors in a 1,500 m² structure combining the old, in the form of the Saintignon mansion, built in the 18th century, and the modern, symbolized by the superb forged portal by Sandor Kiss, a famous contemporary sculptor. The Pierre Messmer collection, inaugurated in 2009, features a special collection of almost 3,500 documents, some of them unique, rare and precious, belonging to the former prime minister and mayor of Sarrebourg (opening by prior arrangement). Accessible to all, with two vast sections - youth and adult - the library offers a wide range of services: document loans of books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, audio books, games, etc., computer workstations and free Wi-Fi access, events such as storytelling hours, literary cafés, workshops, exhibitions, etc., as well as an online training platform, accessible via the library portal. Skilleos offers interactive courses and training: fine arts, music, sport, office automation, multimedia, languages, etc. run by experts.
