ÉGLISE SAINT-RÉMI

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57600 > Forbach > Rue Nationale

Built according to the plans of the architect Desgranges and consecrated in 1868 by the Bishop of Metz, Mgr Dupont des Loges. It is a building of "Neo Gothic" style in the shape of a Latin cross which replaced the old churches of Saint Sebastian and Saint Remi. The first one, called the "castral" chapel, located at the foot of the Schlossberg, gave its name to the old Forbach, the Kappelberg. The former St. Remi's Chapel was located in the lower town, close to the present Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
