The National Necropolis "L'Espérance" created in 1914 after the Battle of Morhange gathers the 279 bodies found in the territories of Cutting, Loudrefing, Bénestroff, Dieuze, Guinzeling and Lostroff. A monument in homage to the Dead of the 15th Corps fallen at the Battle of Dieuze in August 1914 was inaugurated on 1st July 1934. It is due to the sculptor Charles Petit and the architect from Messin M. Reybaud. Just in front of him lies General Diou in an individual burial place.
