The Valley of the Locks is an 8.2 km-long greenway that runs from Guntzviller (Altenburger Inn) to Hofmuhl via the former Arzviller-Henridorff lock ladder (3.8 km). It connects to the South Moselle cycle network via Niderviller in the west and the Lower Rhine cycle network in the east via Saverne and in the direction of Strasbourg. The Voie Verte is a dedicated lane between lock 2 and lock 17. Another section of about 1 km of exclusive right-of-way connects Auberge Altenburger to Arzviller. The rest of the route is on shared roads or communal roads. Eurobike 5 "Via Romea Francigena" is a major European route that links London to Brindisi in southern Italy via Rome. 580 km of this route passes through France between Calais and Mulhouse and follows the Voie Verte of the Vallée des Eclusiers and then the Voie Verte of the Marne-au-Rhin canal The Voie Verte is a traffic route open to all non-motorised means of locomotion.
