BALADES ET RANDONNÉES A VATHIMÉNIL - LA CORVEE

Among the nine hiking trails set up in the commune of Vathiménil to criss-cross the surrounding meadows, fields and woods, the "La Corvée" trail offers a 12.8 km walk or bike ride. Its name reminds us of a very old tradition which concerned especially the robust peasants of the countryside and which consisted in providing a free work for the lord, the public institutions or the landowner. No wonder that this word has a negative connotation, but I promise you, the ride is only synonymous with pleasure! Even if the distance involved requires a bit of courage!
