To commemorate the November 11th Armistice, the Lens-Liévin Tourist Office and the 14-18 Notre-Dame de Lorette Memorial invite parents, children and grandparents to join together in remembering the importance of celebrating peace, with a poetic and moving family event.
Flash tours of the Centre d?histoire will be offered: permanent collection and temporary exhibition Jeux de guerre. Playing with history. At 2pm and 3pm - duration 30 min (booking required on the day) As well as textile screen-printing workshops to make photophores to take with you on the torchlight descent, led by Studio Naïf. At 2pm, 3pm and 4pm - duration 45 min (please reserve on site on D-day) AT 5PM: RENDEZ-VOUS AT THE RING OF MEMORY Poetic light show Le Chant des coquelicots by the Fredandco company: at the heart of the Anneau de la Mémoire, dozens of giant poppies light up, and music, like a heartbeat, resounds... Torchlight descent down Lorette hill, followed by the traditional Poilu soup: Come and join us in passing on the flame of remembrance.
