Populations of small rhinolophes are still significant in the Saintois and particularly in the area of the Sion-Vaudémont Hill This small mammal lives in dwellings (accessible attics and cellars) and natural cavities. It finds on this territory hunting areas still rich in insects. The Meurthe-et-Moselle General Council is the operator and president of the steering committee of the Natura 2000 site: "Gîtes à chiroptères de la Colline inspirée, érablières et pelouses de Vandeléville".
