ARBRE DE LA PAIX

The sculpture stands in front of the Wall of Remembrance. It's a metal tree with 2 counters: the top one displays the number of days of peace since May 8, 1945, and the bottom one, linked to a hand cut out of the trunk, counts the number of people who have placed their hand on it as a sign of their support for this idea. You are invited to place yours there as you pass by, as a sign of your support for this idea. The tree symbolizes the friendship between peoples and the chance to live in peace in the European Union for over 29,000 days. The roots represent our different origins, the trunk the gathering of good will and the convergence of energies, the crown the common projects built together.
