JARDIN D'EAU DES ROISES

France > Grand Est > Meurthe-et-Moselle > 54200 > Lucey > Route de Laneuville

Do you know hemp? In Lucey, it was cultivated in the "chenevières" to make ropes and household linen. After harvesting, the hemp was immersed in water holes, the "roises", to "rouir" (clean the fibres). Once the filasses were detached after crushing, the hemp could be dried in the sun to be combed and then transformed. Today, there are still more than 30 "roises" to discover in Lucey with a route decorated with signs. An original landscape for a bucolic outing. Permanent free visits. Guided tours by the Maison Lorraine de la Polyculture, on request (min. 12 persons)
