From the Fontfroide pass, the itinerary changes into the Somail state forest, kingdom of the beech trees. A restful and rejuvenating stop is necessary at the Vezoles lake to enjoy the idyllic setting. The Passa Meridia Nord ends at La Salvetat-sur-Agoût, a village of character on the Plateau des Lacs.
The crossing will soon come to an end on the heights of the Hérault region, notably by the Col de Fontfroide at 973 meters of altitude. You will cross the forest of Somail, a high place of the Resistance during the Second World War, immortalized by the Stele of Sieyres paying homage to the maquis Latourette and Jean Bène. The arrival on the banks of the lake of Vézoles, with its postcard-like appearance of a Quebec landscape, deserves a bucolic stop. A last effort to reach La Salvetat- sur-Agoût and enjoy the wild setting of the Raviège Lake and its natural and sparkling mineral water.
