Karen Kuronuma, piano, and Mira Marie Foron, violin, who benefit from this support, offer us a fine program spanning eras and styles: we travel from Beethoven?s luminous Sonata for violin and piano No. 3 to the dazzling display of virtuosity in the violin?waxmann?s Carmen Fantaisie, composed for the film Humoresque, is a dazzling display of virtuosity, while Poulenc?s Sonata is an astonishing tribute to Lorca, full of quotations (from Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and? himself!).
