Concert des Amis des Orgues : Orgue et voix

Date:

Géraldine CASEY, coloratura soprano Vincent GRAPPY, organ For their second concert of the season, "Les Amis des Orgues de Figeac" invite you to a wonderful encounter. Géraldine CASEY, coloratura soprano, and Vincent GRAPPY, organist, present a selection of arias from the 17th and 18th centuries. From CAMPRA to MOZART, we'll be able to explore over a century of music, from Baroque to Classical, through the aesthetic variations specific to each country. In fact, this musical journey will take us from Italy to Germany, then to England and France, ending in Austria, in the musical Vienna of the 18th century, inhabited by the genius of Mozart. At each stop along the way, we'll be able to enjoy the rich diversity of the program on offer. Here an extract from the oratorio "Messiah", there a concerto ("Concerto in D minor for organ"), there an opera ("Julius Caesar") or sacred music ("Magnificat" or "Mass")... Géraldine CASEY and Vincent GRAPPY are top-notch artists who have performed on international stages, and will undoubtedly convince and seduce listeners during this marvellous journey through the Europe of the Enlightenment. It should be remembered that all "Amis des Orgues de Figeac" concerts are filmed and retransmitted on a large screen in the Abbey Church, enabling spectators to follow the playing and gestures of the artists as they interpret the music, thus creating a closeness that the size of the building and the distance from the organ do not spontaneously allow.
