The church of Saint-Antoine du Viala was built in 1802. Representative of the 19th century churches built without constraint of existing buildings, it contains a set of murals that decorate the entire walls of different colors. Its decorative motifs are also very numerous On the apse is a representation, not very frequent, of the Multiplication of the loaves.
The church of Saint-Antoine, located in the hamlet of Le Viala, in the commune of Banassac-Canilhac, was built a few years after the creation of the parish in 1802. It is representative of the new churches built in the 19th century, to which no constraint of existing buildings applied, and which present a complete and very coherent whole. The plan remains classical: it is in the form of a Latin cross with a single nave bordered by two side chapels, and ending with a rectangular apse. But the interior is remarkable for its set of wall paintings that decorate the entire walls: the nave is covered in yellow tones, the chapels in blue, the apse in green. There is no lack of motifs: flowers, foliage, false appliances, draperies, angels' faces... On the vault of the apse is a wicker basket containing two fish and seven loaves of bread. This representation, not very frequent, refers to one of the miracles attributed to Jesus Christ, the Multiplication of the loaves
