The church of Brenoux, dedicated to Saint Privat, is interesting, built in the 19th century, on the site of an old church mentioned in the 12th century. It has the particularity of not being oriented, the choir being built towards the north (and not towards the east, as it is generally the case for all churches).
The church of Brenoux, dedicated to Saint Privat, is interesting, built in the 19th century, on the site of an old church mentioned in the 12th century. It has the particularity of not being oriented, the choir being built towards the north (and not towards the east, as it is generally the case for all churches). It also houses a beautiful set of furniture. First of all, a painting located in the right chapel which dates from the 17th century. It represents the martyrdom of Saint Privat who expires in the arms of a disciple, surrounded by seven characters, and whose face is illuminated by a ray, signifying his holiness. Recently restored in 2017, it is registered as a Historic Monument. The magnificent high altar of the church, in neo-Gothic style, is also registered. It presents, in its upper part, a set of blind and geminated broken arches, whose top ends in a pinnacle. A series of statuettes of saints is nestled between the pinnacles.
