More than 25 days of hiking, numerous loops of several days, GR68 / GR 6 / GR PAYS. Like two bald mountains, face to face, Mont Lozère and Causse Méjean are the last mountain foothills, looking down on the Cévennes valleys. A solitary land of moorland, granite and limestone, they have preserved their authentic character. The stone houses seem eternal, and pastoralism is still very much alive. The slopes, often steep, are veined with drailles and resound with the sound of cowbells during the transhumance. To the south, the Causse Méjean borders the Jonte gorges. We're in the Cévennes National Park, where the griffon vulture keeps watch. Signs: Yellow and red GR de pays
