Situated on the outskirts of the city, these marshes are the remnants of a much larger complex that once made up the Arles marshes, a wetland area that has now partly dried up. A perfect spot for a nature walk just a stone's throw from the city.
All freshwater wetland facies are represented: reedbeds, temporary pools, marshes, riparian vegetation... The site is also home to a rich and diverse wetland fauna, including some species in decline at national level. A 2 km-long loop runs through the heart of the various wetlands. It is imperative to stay on the marked trails to preserve the fragility of the environments and the site. Dogs, if not forbidden, must be kept on a leash. All waste, all sampling (fauna, flora, minerals) and all damage to the environment (fires, bivouacs, camping and noisy, motorized activities that may disturb the fauna and damage the site) are prohibited.
